It’s the easy way to budget for your vehicle's servicing - and save some monety too.
A used car service plan is well worth considering if you want to maintain your vehicle and keep a service record, especially if it's still under warranty. You benefit from spreading the cost of the work into easy, bite-sized payments and you could even save money. Our service plans are inflation proof meaning you can lock in the cost of future maintenance at today's prices for up to five years.
FAQs
What is a service plan?
A service plan is a straightforward way of budgeting for your planned vehicle maintenance. You pay a fixed sum each month into your service plan which covers the costs of all scheduled services and MOTs included in the plan.
I thought a service plan was just for new cars?
Offering you the benefits of service plan on your nearly new or used vehicle is just one of the ways Richard Nash Cars can help to improve your car ownership experience. It’s part of our commitment to offering you the very best choice and service. We are proud to announce that we are now able to offer the option of spreading your used vehicle service costs at our service department.
Do I pay extra to maintain my vehicle on a service plan?
No. In fact a service plan could reduce the price of your servicing. The cost of the labour and parts is frozen at the time you activate your service plan. There is a small additional cost for the set up and administration of your direct debit (£1.20 per payment). The good news is that this administration cost is often more than offset because your plan is inflation proof.
What makes the service plan inflation proof?
Because your scheduled maintenance is charged at today’s rates for the duration of the plan, you avoid paying the future increases in the cost of labour and parts, saving you money.
Do I pay any interest?
No. The money in your service plan is your own. The only additional charge is a small administration charge of £1.20 each month.
Why should I take a service plan?
A service plan is a great way to spread the cost of your scheduled maintenance. Your repayments are tailored to your vehicle type, your annual mileage and the level of service your vehicle needs. You also lock in the cost of your services and MOTs at today’s prices for up to five years.
My vehicle has just been serviced. Can I still take a service plan out?
Yes. You can arrange a service plan at any time. The monthly payments will change to reflect the time between last service and when your next service is due.
Can I include MOTs and other work in my monthly payment?
Yes. We can include MOTs and any other regular work such as air conditioning re-gassing or timing belts in your payments.
How much does a service plan cost?

Do I have to include a service every year if I don't want one?
If your vehicle is under manufacturer's warranty, or if you have an active guarantee from Richard Nash Cars you will need to service the vehicle in line with the manufacturer’s guidelines to maintain your guarantee or warranty. After this you can schedule services at any frequency you choose.
Does a service plan include wear and tear items like tyres?
No. A service plan is a great way of budgeting for your scheduled maintenance however it does not take in to account some wear and tear items or non-schedule work due to a part failure. These items can be paid for separately.
Can I cancel my service plan?
Yes. The money in your service plan is your own and if you wish to take it out of the scheme or cancel it all together you can do so at any time.
Can I transfer my service plan to a new vehicle?
Yes. The monthly cost of your service plan is based on your vehicle type, annual mileage and service requirements. As such the monthly payment may change if you transfer your plan to a new vehicle. Any money paid into the service plan transfers over to the new vehicle.
Do you need to perform a credit check for a service plan?
No. All work is paid for in advance so there is no credit facility and therefore no need for a credit check.
What date will direct debits be taken from my account?
Direct debit payments will fall on the 1st of the month. At this time this cannot be changed.
As a Richard Nash customer will I still receive my discount on service work?
Yes. Any customer discount will be built into your plan.
