The exhaust system filters and cleans the emissions from your vehicle and allows your engine to run at peak efficiency. Modern exhaust systems include many components including AdBlue systems, emissions control units, emission gas recirculation valves and more.
AdBlue Fault
AdBlue is an additive required by some exhaust systems to help reduce emissions. AdBlue systems consist of additive tanks, injectors, filters and more. These parts can fail or get clogged up which could cause your car to fail an emissions test, reduce engine performance or even cause your vehicle to go into ‘limp mode’
Signs your exhaust system could have a problem
Common symptoms of a problem with your exhaust include:
- Exhaust/emissions warning light
- EGR warning light
- AdBlue warning light
- Exhaust blowing or making more noise than usual
- Reduced performance
- Car in limp mode
- Smoke from exhaust
- Rattle from exhaust
