How a car becomes a Richard Nash car
It takes a lot for your next car to display our family name in the
rear window. Discover the thorough process every vehicle must undergo before it's available for you to buy from Richard Nash Cars.
STEP 1
Where we find the best cars
We look for the same things in a car that you do – condition, mileage, ownership, service history, fuel economy, colour and of course - value for money.
You'll only find cars here that have been hand selected by our experienced buyers for these very things. We scour reputable auction listings, private sales, ex-Motability and fleet listings to bring you the best of the best. You can also browse deals here on nearly new cars direct from our own group fleet.
We don’t stock cars just to fill spaces. We just stock the very best second-hand cars at excellent prices. This way you save hours of tedious searching elsewhere.
STEP 2
No nasty surprises - thorough vehicle history checks
You can be confident the vehicle you're looking at is proper and not a waste of your time.
Before a vehicle is even delivered we verify the mileage and number of registered keepers. We also ensure our cars have not been recorded as stolen or written off and that they're clear of outstanding finance. This information is checked against records held by the DVLA, HPI and the National Mileage Register.*
* Mileage, accident, theft and finance checks not carried out on vehicles we have owned from new unless requested.
STEP 3
Delivery inspection
When a car first arrives, its condition is appraised and the specification checked.
We aim to take a single photo for you at this stage so you can see
what will be arriving on the forecourt soon. If a vehicle requires cosmetic repair work, it is organised now.
STEP 4
Mechanically checked
Inspected from bumper-to-bumper so you know exactly what you’re buying.
Our in-house mechanics perform a Richard Nash Cars Inspection
on every vehicle, ensuring it meets our exacting standards. If it’s not good
enough, we reject it at this stage.
Our servicing standards:
Under manufacturer’s warranty
Vehicles still under the manufacturer’s warranty are serviced if due in 3,000 miles or less; or if due in accordance with the manufacturer's schedule based on time. The service will be carried out using genuine parts to maintain the manufacturer's warranty.
Outside of manufacturer’s warranty
Older vehicles, outside of the manufacturer’s warranty, are serviced on a mileage basis. If due in 3,000 miles or less we will carry out a service. We carry out any servicing using quality parts.
If a vehicle does not meet our criteria for a service then it undergoes a Lights, Levels and Safety Inspection to ensure it functions as you would expect. When you drive away in one of our cars you will have a minimum six months valid MOT. Tyres will all have a minimum of 3mm tread on them, including the spare (if applicable).
STEP 5
The deep clean
Vehicles which meet our exacting mechanical standards are deep cleaned and valeted, ready to impress you.
Pressure washed, wax rinsed, wet-vacuumed if needed, hoovered, polished and detailed. This is not the bog-standard £10 hand wash you'll find in some other places!
STEP 6
Photo shoot
Finally, the car is ready for its time to shine in a photo shoot.
We aim to take as many pictures as possible so that you can have a good look around the cars from the comfort of your own home. If there's something special you would like to see, or if you would like a video, just ask.

Unlike many other dealers, we are so confident in our preparation process that we give you a minimum twelve-month, unlimited mileage guarantee completely free of charge with any car.**
** Excludes vehicles sold with the balance of the manufacturer's warranty. If there is less than twelve months of manufacturer's cover remaining when you collect your car then you will be topped up to a full year with our own silver guarantee, free of charge.
